Supply Chain Transparency: Real-Time Visibility from Raw Materials to Finished Goods

In today’s global furniture industry, buyers require far more than just qualified products — they need full supply chain visibility. At Tianjin TheWay Furniture, we have established a fully transparent supply chain system to deliver real-time and accurate updates throughout every production phase. From sourcing FSC-certified timber to final container loading, our clients can always keep track of their orders clearly.

Raw Material Traceability – The Starting Point

Every batch of raw materials is registered in our system with a unique batch number. For wooden parts, we record corresponding FSC certificate numbers, supplier information and delivery dates. For woods, fabrics and foam materials, we keep complete test reports and batch codes. Clients can obtain all relevant documents anytime, ensuring full traceability across the entire production chain.

Live Production Tracking

Our production workshop is divided into four main areas: woodworking, sewing, upholstery and assembly. Workers scan barcodes attached to each component at every workstation. We send weekly production reports to clients, covering:

  • Current production stage of each order

  • On-site production photos (available on request)

  • Comparison between estimated completion date and agreed lead time

For instance, one European client recently asked for in-production photos of customized collapsible bed frames. Our team delivered 12 workshop photos within two hours, verifying all connectors were installed correctly.

Quality Control Visibility

Our 12-step quality inspection process is fully open to clients. You may request inspection records from any of the following key checkpoints:

  1. Raw material incoming inspection

  2. Wood cutting precision check

  3. Foam density testing

  4. Fabric seam strength testing

  5. Final pre-packaging inspection

All inspection records carry timestamps and the signature of quality controllers. We maintain a product defect rate below 0.5%. Once any abnormality is detected, both our team and the client will be notified immediately.

Delivery and Logistics Transparency

Upon production completion, we provide container loading plans and photos of packaged cartons. We monitor the 45-day standard lead time on a weekly basis, and will notify clients at least 10 days in advance if any delivery delay is foreseeable. Over the past 12 months, our on-time delivery rate has surpassed 98.5%, with a delay rate lower than 1.5%.

Supporting Management Tools

We adopt practical and efficient management tools to guarantee transparency:

  • Barcode scanning for production orders

  • Shared cloud folders for photos and documents

  • Weekly email notifications on order progress

  • On-demand video calls for live factory tours

We rely on standardized workflows and the principle of full openness, rather than complex high-cost ERP systems.

Core Benefits for Buyers

Our transparent supply chain brings tangible advantages to procurement teams:

  • Effectively prevent raw material replacement risks

  • Enable timely handling of quality concerns

  • Facilitate compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

  • Shorten lead times for repeat orders

Future Development

Tianjin TheWay Furniture keeps optimizing supply chain visibility. We are currently testing a dedicated client portal, which will enable clients to check order status, quality control files and shipping information via real-time data dashboards. In the meantime, we guarantee to respond to all information inquiries within 24 hours.
